Obituary

Rene J. Morin, 87, of Manchester, died peacefully April 2, 2021, after a brief illness.

Born on October 22, 1933, in Manchester, he was the son of the late John and Adele (Caouette) Morin. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester.

During the Korean War, Rene served as a medic stationed in Germany. He was very proud of his service and once considered making a career of the military.

Rene enjoyed making jigsaw puzzles with his kids and grandkids, watching football with his boys and loved to sit on the swing in his backyard watching the birds eat the bread he scattered for them. His family loved to listen to him play his harmonica and accordion and it always made them smile. He was also a Master baby rocker and nothing gave him more pleasure. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony Church in Manchester. Rene and his wife Carmel loved to dance and we are sure they are dancing together again in heaven.

Rene was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Carmel Morin and two siblings, James Morin and Doris Paquin.

He is survived by six children, Michael Morin and his wife Janice, Linda Madden and her husband Tim, David Morin and his wife Donna, Daniel Morin, Cathy Wason and her husband Pat and Scott Morin and his wife Donna; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Romeo "Red" Gagnon, who was like a brother to him and many other loving relatives and friends.

SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A cemetery committal service with military honors will be held on Friday (4/9) at noon at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen. Rene and his wife, Carmel, will be interred at the same time.

There will also be a Mass of Christian Burial for Rene and Carmel on Tuesday (4/13) at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester. Due to COVID, social distancing and masks will be required.
