Obituary

Mark E. Vermillion, Sr., of Londonderry, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018 at Parkland Medical Center.

Born in Fort Lee, VA, he was the son of the late Russell and Norma (Rogers) Vermillion. Growing up in a military family, Mark was raised and educated in France as well as several Army posts throughout the United States. He was a graduate of Virginia Tech, earning his Bachelor's Degree in Business. During his college years, Mark was a member of the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets and played the trumpet in his college band, "Highty Tighties".

In 1980, Mark continued the family tradition of military service by joining the United States Army. An honorably discharged veteran, Mark proudly served his country for seven years, earning rank of Captain. While stationed in Germany, Mark met the love of his life, the former Lynda Larosee. Following their military careers, the young couple settled in Virginia where Mark attended Marymount University earning his Master's Degree in Business Administration with additional certification in Information Technology.

Choosing to take advantage of a business opportunity, the family moved to Wisconsin for a few years and then settled once again in New Hampshire.

A dedicated husband, father, brother, and friend, Mark was a quiet pillar of strength for his family. He was a Boy Scout Eagle Award recipient and volunteered as Cub Master and assistant Scout Master for several years. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading science fiction and books written by a favorite author, Tom Clancy. He also loved computer gaming and researching his varied interests on the internet. Mark will be best remembered for his love of family.

Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Lynda, with whom he shared 36 years of marriage; daughter, Jennifer of Weare; two sons, Mark E. II and James, both of Concord; sister, Julia of VA; brother, Eric and his wife Linda of CA; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
