Bertha and I were close neighbors for 36 years. I was always grateful for her watchful eye over the neighborhood and received many a call if she saw a stranger in the area, a fox on my lawn, a light left on, or if it appeared the city or local services were about to dig up my lawn. We had many a laugh, lots of good stories, and shared a cocktail or two late afternoons from time to time. She had a voracious sweet tooth and enjoyed orange circus peanut and Reese's peanut butter cups. I could always count on a smile and a wave from her window as I drove past her home. That smile and her "royal" wave will be emblazoned in my heart and mind forever. I will miss you, dear Bertha. Love always.

May the light of this candle burn brightly.

May our good memories of Bertha live on forever!

Bertha was our good friend and neighbor for almost nineteen years. I was fortunate to have chatted on the phone with Bertha on October 30th. She sounded cheerful and expressed gratitude for all the good things in her life -- her son and family members and her friends. Bertha and I had many great conversations over the years; always enjoying my family news. She was a caring person with a quick sense of humor! She was a strong lady who lived most of her long life independently! We should all be so lucky! We are saddened to have learned of Bertha's passing but our lives are blessed to have known her. Our sincerest condolences to Dennis and family.
