"A Teardrop in the Rain"

A poem written for me by Manny and now it's my time to pay it forward.

I know I'm special from all the other water drops. I came to be because of emotions. The heart molded me and brought me here because of feelings that only I can express.

I have been here for different reasons, some sad, many joyous and, on occasion, solitude. Yet the best is always to belong to you.

You beckon me and I am here to serve your emotions, yet I sometimes wonder why? There are many drops all around when it rains, yet I always stand out on your face because I come from your heart.

I sat on your cheek as I watched you dine and wondered why I was summoned, then the heart told it all as you sat alone...you were alone and I could feel your pain.

In that moment before you swept me away with your gentle touch, I looked around and I knew why you brought me here...you were alone and thinking of someone beyond special. Everyone was together and you needed me to be with you and, as always, I am here for you.

As you sat and the room lost its activity, you brought me back and I knew you needed me again. Yet your heart was happy this time as you spoke to that special someone and I knew you were again, alive...if even for a small moment. As you took me away with your touch, I was happy to be part of that moment and not just the rain.

Manny I loved you as a father figure and most of all a dear friend . You gave me much comfort knowing my mother married such a gentleman . I'll miss all the Holiday visits back and forth from Connecticut and New Hampshire which we all looked forward to so much. The countless golf rounds will be priceless for the rest of my life . Thank You for being so patient with me out on the golf links. I Love You
