Tribute & Message From The Family

John H. Harrington Sr., 80, a lifelong resident Manchester, passed away Friday, August 11, 2017 following a period of declining health.
John was born in Manchester on June 21, 1937 to Earl and Genevieve Harrington. He attended Central High School and proudly served his country with the US Army in the 1950s. Following his time in the service, John worked as an armored car driver with Manchester Security for more than 36 years. He was an avid sports fan, particularly football and baseball, always rooting for his beloved Patriots and Red Sox. He was also a devoted Papa who adored all of his grandchildren.
John is survived by his wife of 41 years, Martha (Kimball) Harrington; daughter, Monique Nelson with husband, Aaron Sr. and their three children; son, Michael Harrington with wife, Lyndy and their four children; three children from a previous marriage, John Jr., Lisa, and Doreen; sister, Nancy Soares and husband, Manny; brother, Steve Harrington and wife, Linda; brother, Robert Harrington; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to gather Wednesday, August 16th 11:00am-12:00pm at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester. Memorial service will begin at noon in the funeral home chapel. Interment with military honors will follow at 2:00pm at the New Hampshire State Veteran Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway in Boscawen. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans online at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium is assisting the family with arrangements.

Dad, I'm very saddened by the news your gone.I regret the time that has passed without contact.there is always the assumption that people will always be there, Then news like this hits. Now you can breathe easier, no aches and pains. My thoughts are with you Martha, Monique,and Michael. I couldn't do the trip up there. I will always have my memories.

John and Martha you have been the best neighbors I could ever ask for, like grandparents I never had so close... my son zayden loved John so much would love to just knock to say hi. U guys were ok with that. I am so happy he was able to be home with his closest family members for the last of his life. I'm sorry I won't make it to the funeral due to work , my deepest condolences to u and the kidos friends and family. If u need me im only a door away xoxoxo
