Obituary

Noel Philippon, 81, of Manchester, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Lampton, Quebec, Canada, he was the son of the late Alphonse and Helen ( Isabel) Philippon. As a young man, Noel relocated to Manchester where he met and married the love of his life, the former Louisette St. Pierre, in 1965. The young couple settled on Manchester's West Side to raise their beautiful family. For over 45 years, Noel worked tirelessly to provide for his family as a carpenter and home builder.

A dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Noel was the pillar of strength for his family. He cherished time spent with his family, especially for holiday gatherings. Noel considered his family to be his greatest accomplishment. A devout Christian, he was a longtime parishioner of the Parish of the Transfiguration, member of La Recontre and the Knights of Columbus. Noel loved music and enjoyed playing the accordion for family and friends. Noel will be best remembered for his witty sense of humor and love of family.

Noel is survived by his beloved wife, Louisette (St. Pierre) Philippon, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage; two sons, Guylain Philippon and wife Kimberley (Quirk) Philippon; Marco Philippon and wife Debra Paul; and daughter, Sonia (Philippon) Costinos and husband Paul Costinos; six grandchildren, Arnold Philippon, Bryan Philippon, Cody Philippon, Makenna Philippon, Ethan Costinos, and Chloe Costinos; three siblings, Marcel Philippon and wife Brenda of Ontario, Canada, Louisette Philippon and life partner Gerald LeBoeuf of Montreal, Canada, and Jean Claude Philippon and wife Murielle of Disraeli, Canada; two sisters-in-law, Anita Philippon and Shirley Philippon; very many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, Noel was predeceased by ten siblings, Gilles, Gaetan, Frank, Valeda, Hormidas, Estelle, Ovila, Paul, Albert, and Lucien.
